Textile banks

At textile banks you can recycle the following items even if they are well worn or damaged:

  • clothing
  • handbags
  • belts
  • bed linens
  • blankets
  • towels
  • underwear
  • shoes

Leave the cap on

Glass bottles, such as wine, spirits and cooking oils often come with aluminium screw tops which can be recycled along with the glass.

You can also leave the lids on your glass jars.

You can report an issue relating to a public recycling site online. Issues to report include:

The materials we collect are sent for processing.

The council benefits from any income arising from recycling. It uses this money to help offset the cost of the waste collection and disposal.
