Residents are being asked to share their views on highways and transport services in Bracknell Forest, thanks to the National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction survey.
This standardised survey will ask a range of questions from the condition of roads and footpaths, to the quality of cycling facilities. Answers will be compared with the views of other members of the public across England and Scotland.
We are one of 111 local authorities to sign up to this survey that will ask members of the public the same questions whether they live in Bracknell, Brighton or Barnsley.
The survey, which is being run for the 14th year, is the largest collaboration between local authorities. It offers the opportunity to:
- compare results
- share in best practice
- identify further opportunities to work together in the future
The questionnaire will be sent to a minimum of 3,300 Bracknell Forest Council residents from 7 June. This will be followed up by a reminder, with local and national results to be published in late October this year. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. If you are contacted, we encourage you to take part, to help shape future highways and transport developments in Bracknell Forest.
Residents can complete a paper based survey or submit their responses online. A unique code, provided on the initial letter, will be required to take part online.
The results will enable us to find out what our residents think about these important services and will provide another way for us to assess how we are performing.

“There are clear benefits to conducting a public survey in this way. As well as providing excellent value for money, it also enables everyone involved to identify areas of best practice and spot national, regional, and local trends.
“This is not about producing a league table to champion one geographical area over another, it is about understanding customer views better and working together to deliver the most satisfactory yet efficient outcomes for local residents.”
