We are experiencing ongoing delays on our contracted grounds maintenance service.
This is due to the effect of staff shortages, fuel shortages and availability of spare parts and machinery.
We are prioritising the cutting back of vegetation for safety throughout our highway network. This is delaying our normal shrub, hedge and rural verge cutting routine.
Thank you for your patience during this time.
We cut the majority of council owned grass and highway verges 15 times a year, between the months of March and October. Rural verges and dual carriageways are cut twice a year.
You can use our online form to report an issues with:
- a grass area
- shrubs, hedges and small trees
- hanging baskets or flower beds

Most areas of damaged grass will regenerate naturally. If you consider the ground to be hazardous use our online forms to report damage to a grass area.
If the damage relates to a grass verge please fill in our road repairs and issues form and select 'Damage to roads, verges, pavements and kerbs'.
For reports about damage caused by cars parking on grassed areas, please fill in the parking enquiry form and select 'Reporting issues concerning parking on a road, verge or pavement'.
